YOQ Perfecting Recitation with Ustadha Fatima (Monthly) - 2026/27

Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (radiAllāhu anhu) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said “Verily, this Quran has descended with sadness. If you recite it, then weep. If you cannot weep, then feign weeping. Recite in a melodious tone, for whoever does not use a pleasant voice is not one of us.” [Sunan Ibn Mājah]

In this recitation-focused course, students will be reciting extensively to improve their fluency and application of tajweed rules in their recitation. Students will be covering 5 ajzaa - from Surah Yunus to Al Kahf - over the course of 32 weeks, concentrating on approximately 3.5 pages every week with focused repetition to improve accuracy and fluency.

After finishing this course, dedicated students will have improved in the fluency and accuracy of their Quranic recitation.

Prerequisite(s): Students should have a strong desire to master the recitation of the Qur'an as the Prophet ﷺ recited. Students should have a grasp of the articulation points (makhaarij) and characteristics (sifaat) of the Arabic letters, rules of noon sākinah/tanween and mudood/lenthenings. Students must be female of 14 years of age or older.
