Tazkiyah (purification of the soul) is the study of a balanced approach and implementation of Islamic principles in everyday life. This science implements the practical aspects of spirituality as informed by the bounds of the Quran and authentic Sunnah. Students are taught practical applications of Islamic principles with the aim of closeness to Allah through purifying the heart and soul.

It is open to women and young girls from age 17 years old. We do not recommend it for anyone younger than this age.

Sunday 17 November mid afternoon from the resort. We will be back in Toronto by 7 PM EST.

We will arrange for bus transport for those that require. Alternatively you may drive/carpool if you prefer. The resort is 2 hours from Toronto.

Learning, reflection and practical tips to help purify ourselves and get closer to Allah (SWT).

A daily schedule will include 2-3 teaching sessions with Dr Haifaa Younis and learning how to apply these practically. The rest of the time, you will be free to rest, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and connect with sisters. We will be staying at a resort so you can go hiking or walk around the lake!

Pure intention to get closer to Allah (SWT), a notebook, Quran and a heart ready to be filled with love of Allah and sisterhood.

No, but it is highly recommended for those who are able to do so.

All meals will be provided. A buffet breakfast will be catered for by the resort in their dining area. Lunch and Dinner will be catered for by an external halal caterer. The meals will be delivered daily and each person will receive a meal pack that they can enjoy in their room, or outdoors or in the common area together.

The meals will be standardized. We will share a menu ahead of time with a few options and ask each confirmed attendee to place their order.

If you request to cancel, you have until November 1st 2024 to do so for a full refund for the Retreat. After that, it is nonrefundable.

The accommodation fee is fully refundable up until 7 days before the retreat, however will have implications if you have chosen a shared option.

Accommodation is not included in the cost and must be booked directly with the resort.

Discount prices have been arranged and our local coordinator will assist you with the reservations and
pairing up.

The accommodation prices range from CAD 100 – CAD150 pp per night on a shared basis, depending on what style room you want. This is priced on a shared basis – meaning one bedroom and bathroom is shared between 2 women, however with their own bed.

If you prefer more privacy and do not want to share, that is allowed, but the price will be higher.
